I am a mom of two, wife, daughter, sister, granddaughter, cousin, niece, aunt, friend, student, photographer, writer, teacher, and wanderer. I’ve finished the journey called law school, minding the bumps and ignoring the bruises I’ve received along the way, passed the bar exam and been sworn in as an attorney in Iowa. This blog? It’s sort of my coping mechanism. It starts it the middle of the summer between my 1L and 2L years. If you want to know more about me or 1L year (or even before that), check out my old site: http://myterranullius.wordpress.com.
Why exhibit L? My blog is about life, law, learning, laughter, love, and leisure. Plus, my last name (Larson) and nickname (Lisslo) start with L. And…there’s a bit of alliteration if you say it out loud. It just seemed to fit.
What else do you need to know? Well, I’m generally a happy person. I adore spending time with my husband of fourteen years. We’re thoroughly enjoying spending time with our two children (ages 2 and 5 months). I love learning and a good challenge. Among my closest and best friends, I count my husband, mother, cousin, and two sisters-in law (and I consider myself unbelievably lucky). I am an attorney, and maybe want to be a law professor or judge someday. I want two or three children. Being a mother is the best thing I have ever done, hands down. If I erased all the song lyrics in my memory, I’d be about 10,000 times smarter. I love the smell of rain. I am a book worm. I am a recovering Dr. Pepper addict. I wish I could speak Spanish fluently. And French. And Latin. And Farsi. And Mandarin. I’m slowly but surely working my way through “1000 Places to See Before you Die.” Sometimes I wonder how I ever lived without my iPod. I enjoy people watching, and sometimes am inspired to start a short story based on something I see. I miss writing poetry, but don’t feel like writing it very often. I could watch Gilmore Girls every day, and never grow tired of it. I want to explore the world around me and take nothing but amazing photographs of it. I love being in love. When I know what I want, nothing can stop me from working hard to get it.
